Essay on My Favorite Leader- APJ Abdul Kalam

My favorite leader is none other than Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam who became the 11th president of India. He was a scientist who was born on 15th October 1931. He served the country as the President from 2002 to 2007. He was amongst the most respected leaders in the country and he was and will remain my favorite leader. He has contributed a lot to the country and he was also a great scientist before he became the President. He always loved discovering new things and being a politician he was never played politics. He was a very fair man and he was also very honest. He was honest to himself and therefore he could be honest with the world. APJ Abdul Kalam has also been a part of the Indian Space and Research organization and he headed a lot of projects when he was a part of the ISRO.

APJ Abdul Kalam is also known as the missile man of India. He has also been honored with the highest civilization awards for his dedication and hard work. After serving his tenure as the president he became a professor and visited many schools and colleges as a visiting lecturer. He always loved children and he even focused a lot on education and made it a compulsion for every individual.

APJ Abdul Kalam comes from a very lower middle-class family and he became what he was because he focused on education. He has always been my role model and he was a man of great honor and respect. He started earning at a very young age and he supported his family financially. Abdul Kalam has had a rough childhood but he made sure to get proper education and he knew that without getting educated he will be nothing and the world will not be a place worth living.

APJ Abdul Kalam pursued his graduation from Madras and later became a chief scientific advisor to the Prime Minister from the year 1992-1999. He also became the secretary of Defense Research and Development Organization. He was also the chief project coordinator when the nuclear test at Pokhran was conducted under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The test was conducted successfully and it was a joyful moment for the people and the nation.

Abdul Kalam has also written many books and the most famous ones are – Ignited Minds, the Luminous Sparks, Mission India, and many others. He was against corruption and he knew that the youth has the power to change the world. To eradicate corruption, he launched a mission, which was called – What Can I give Movement. The movement focused on the youth and it was their chance to show the world their power.

Abdul Kalam did a lot for the country and after completing his president-ship he became a guest faculty in the various college. Abdul Kalam died of a heart stroke o 27 July 2015 in Shillong, Meghalaya where he was going to give a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. His death was a shock to millions of people and around 350000 people attended the rites including the Prime Minister and many other politicians. APJ Abdul Kalam has also received several awards and his remembered and loved till date by everyone.
